Probably, the most missing link in any work at home business entrepreneurs life is called a loss of focus. Most people who work on the Internet seems to go from one thing, to another to another. Instead of actually working, writing articles, posting classified ads, writing press releases, building effective marketing websites, researching keywords for search engine placement, submitting to blogs, building new and better blogs and all the other elements that need to be in place for a successful marketing campaign, what do they do? They go on Skype and chat for hours with their friends. They go to their Facebook accounts, and chat once again about the events of the day. They go to other social media groups and basically waste valuable time.

This is true folks. Some of the people that I have attempted to work with have this common ailment. Facebookitis is pervasive in this current economy on the Internet. There is nothing wrong with that, but as far as being productive, it certainly is not.

How does a person maintain focus that will lead to productivity in a work at home business? It really is so brutally simple, and that is why people miss it time and again. Focus is simply termed as concentrated effort in accomplishing ONE THING! That one thing could be writing articles. Spend one hour per day writing keyword specific information about your business. Do NOT advertise, but rather, give your readers something of value. Do not pitch your deal, but give your reader something to think about. Do NOT give reasons why its important to join their business, but rather provide them with information they can use to understand better your work from home business model. Maybe, just maybe, that one person who finds and actually reads your information will find value, and actually contact you about that business.

Marketing on the Internet is certainly not rocket science, but unless you make a move towards being productive and find your focal point, then obviously nothing will happen, and you will fall once again in the statistics of the 95% of people who join businesses fail. There is much more than meets the eye when setting up, and then utilizing the autoresponder system to follow up with people who fill out contact forms on your sites. How many times have you heard the word free when it comes to things that you find on the Internet. You know the drill, right? Free tools, free training, free software, open source, free conferencing, free phone calls, free Internet marketing signups, free online services for anyone to use, free blogs, free forums, free websites and much more. Free will boggle your mind, but if you are not really careful here, you will find that your free service will wind up costing you mega bucks in the end.

Here is an actual case in point that happened to me just today. As you probably know, I host a lot of WordPress blogs. I use them to host my articles, opinions, comments and to gain readers that look at my work from home business model. I have been using hosted WordPress for years, and find that they templates they offer are good, reliable, and MOST of the plugins are good, but there is one exception to that rule.

There is a plugin that I find within the WordPress system called Kaltura. This WP plugin enables you to upload your videos right on site. Convenient, yes. Free, well almost. I received an email from them this morning informing me that now I was using their service, I would have to pay, or lose my video hosting service. NO where did they mention this on the WP site, or their site either. I have only marginally used this video uploading service, and I am thankful for that. They are now literally holding me hostage (they think) unless I fork over some money to them. I find this type of free Internet service very disgusting, and am quite prepared to do my part in informing my readers NOT to use Kaltura, or you will soon find yourself paying dearly for their free video uploading service. The point is that there is nothing really free on the Internet, or anywhere else. You should make up your mind here and now that everything that you will accomplish in building any work from home business will come with a price tag attached. How much will you spend in building one? When you are able to logically and reasonably answer this question, then you may just be on the verge of success.

Since growing up in the Texas Panhandle, and living a basic country life for many years in my early development, I know what it means to be right, and to do the right things. This applies even today in dealing with work from home businesses. Too often, we are faced with a deluge of lies, hype, scam and basic two faced propagators of everything but the truth in this industry. There are a few of us; however, that do live according to right ways, and are proud of that fact.

My father taught me that there is no black and white when it comes to right. There is right, and there is wrong, and neither shall ever be replaced by anything else other than the truth. I live according to that code, and am proud that I was raised where I do not have the ability to misrepresent anything that I do, or will ever do in building a work from home business on the Internet. This may not be popular, but it works for me, and enables me to talk with real people about real possibilities. I am not here to sell you anything friend. AS a matter of fact, I am not a salesman, but simply a man who has found out the secret to building businesses on the Internet.

The Internet is full of lies and liars. There is simply no other way to say it. I believe in calling it like I see it. I knew for a fact that when I started working online some seven years ago, that I would approach building a business the right way, or I would get out. It has not been, and is not easy today. People are so jaded by the lies of the work from home industry that they trust no one, and nothing. I say here here! That is a good thing. Healthy skepticism will keep you from falling prey to the millions of online hucksters out there, who are out for your hard earned dollars.

Face facts. If you are going to teeter the hallowed halls of a work from home business, then you are going to have to have some very thick skin. You will have people who claim that they want to join your business, and do so, but only to find them later, skipping and jumping to the next biggest deal they can find. Its no problem for me to fly right past this type very quickly. I do not allow energy drainers in my life in any manner. I am here to assist people who wish to learn, then earn. I am not prepared to waste my time with the others. I have no feelings for people who are bitching, moaning and complaining about what they have, or do not have. I am here looking for the right people, who are desiring to make a change for the better, using the vehicle of a work from home business on the Internet.

In closing, I am using The Cowboy Code of Ethics as a good example of the way that I approach my work from home business.

Personally, I enjoy this time freedom, and am able to positively and creatively live my life, and my own terms, and not have to be dictated to by others, in how I am going to live. This is vitally important. As I have stated before, not all work at home jobs are legitimate. Most of the Internet is full of plastic lies. When I say that, all you really have to do is search on the Internet for work at home jobs, and a myriad of possibilities will come to the top. The grandiose claims of making set amounts of money for no effort are certainly lies. Some of the big affiliate marketing gurus who tout their claims of making millions from affiliate marketing are simply email spammers. You must be able to choose carefully, and wisely, any business that is worth pursuing. You must dig for their reputations on the Internet. You should certainly check out their policies and procedures. You should find out what type of products they are selling, and how the products are being used by real people on the Internet. In other words, never just join something because it looks too good to be true, because most of the time, it certainly will be just that. Any work at home job worth spending valuable time in promoting, will only be seen as something real and viable.

The powers that be will let us make a little money, but if we step out of line for a second, and actually try to achieve greatness, they will spare no expense to shut our activities down.

Until people come out of their hiding places and choose to become totally aware of the dangers of marketing a business on the Internet, then surely, this random act of censorship will continue rampant and uncontrolled to a huge degree. You, like myself, would think that marketing a business on the Internet today would be a relatively safe and fun way to make money. The super powers of the Internet and the world at large can look upon this as an active way to usurp their supreme authorities over everyone.

In case you are not aware of it, the eyes of Big Brother ARE on you right here, and right now! Play by their rules of engagement, or you too will suffer their wrath, and feel the raw power of censorship come fully into your work at home business. The power of the written word on the Internet certainly is a freedom of expresses ion; however, with the new shift in that personal freedoms being stripped away on a daily business, entrepreneurs seem to be a threat to the coalition to keep everyone in bondage. How free is free? Like most of you, I search the Internet for free services. Ok, so I have to optin to a form, and supply them with my personal information, e.g.; name, phone number, email address etc. After that, I receive information from these systems until I am able to opt out of the system, right? WRONG! Once you have submitted that information, you have just opted into their database, where your information is permanently stored forever. In other words, you wish to use their free marketing tools and emails? Then be aware, you have been given nothing, and these huge multi-national corporations have you just where they want you. You are now stuck in the database, and they can track, monitor and observe everything that you do, and are by the way, for the rest of your life. So, how free is free? Think about it for a moment, and you will discover that free on the net costs you more than you know at this point.

The point to all this content concerning a work at home business is this. Until you decide to become part of the growing anti-establishment movement on the Internet, and begin the process of fighting back in the work at home industry, you will suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous misfortune. These people of the multi-national corporations do NOT want you to succeed UNLESS you follow their ways of buying your way onto the Internet. Its a fact of life, that money drives the net. Unless you are educated in the process of how to work around this issue in a logical and clear thinking manner, you will suffer the consequences. Its as simple as that.
